In the cinema one seemed to be tired of young adult material, on Netflix they are sure to hit the public. Amazon Prime Video also wants to get involved – and that’s why Channing Tatum gets on board for a target group-oriented Shakespeare version.

As the Hollywood Reporter reports, Amazon has the plan to produce more so-called young adult content, that is, more material for the target group of “young adults”, usually between 15 and 18 years old.

The idea behind it is obvious. Netflix celebrates one hit after the other with films and series that are strongly aimed at such an audience – most recently with “The Kissing Booth 2” and “Cursed”, for example.

How and whether the balancing act will succeed in transforming the famous literary figure, who manipulates her husband into a murderer and warmonger, into an easier teenage story is exciting.

The project will be a musical. Superstar Channing Tatum, who will implement the film with his production company FMOVIES Amazon Prime Video, is responsible for this. He does this together with the successful music manager Scooter Braun, who represents Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, among others.

The creative minds for the actual implementation have already been determined: the screenplay is written by the so far unknown author S.J. who is on the rise with several projects. Inwards, who also works for competitor Netflix at the same time: With a series called “Cursed Pirate Girl” she is also adapting a young adult material for the streaming giant with the red N.

A schedule for the production of the new Amazon film is not yet known. But Amazon should be very keen to get production going quickly, because the chances of success for such materials are currently very high in the streaming area.

Nothing is known about the cast either. It has not yet been revealed whether the “Magic Mike” star Channing Tatum will also be seen in front of the camera in addition to his role as producer.

As an actor he has recently made himself a bit rare, has only been active as a speaker a few times since “Logan Lucky” and “Kingsman 2: The Golden Circle”, both of which came to German cinemas in September 2017, but not more to be seen in a new movie or series.
